Land Yachts

We have been busy over the last couple of weeks designing and building our land yachts.  We have learnt about stability, weight, connecting parts, size of sail in relation to the hull and many more important aspects to consider when boat building.

Today we made some lovely Thank You cards for our parent helpers that came on our trip yesterday.  We are so proud of our final products!  Look at the pictures!

 

Maritime Museum Trip

Today Room 23 and 24 went to the Maritime Museum to learn about how boats are powered by wind.  It was a fabulous day of adventure and learning.

Paralympics Lesson

Yesterday the Year 3's learnt about the Paralympics and had a turn playing wheelchair rugby.  The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about different disabilities and the variety of sports in the Paralympics.  We are going to give some of these games a go during PE lessons.  For example, sitting volley ball and goal ball sound like fun.

 

 

Chinese Calligraphy Lesson

Today we had a Chinese Calligraphy lesson with some special visitors from China.  We learnt so much and even got to use real calligraphy brushes on rice paper that will last for thousands of years!!!
