Rainforest Express Trip

Today all the Year 3's went to the Waitakere Ranges to see the Upper Nihotupu Dam and go on the Rainforest Express.

First we walked through the native bush for about an hour.  We saw some mighty waterfalls, and lots of native plants and birds.

We finally reached the picnic spot where we could have our lunch. We really deserved a rest and some food.

After that the train driver spoke to us about what we will see while on the train and explained the rules so that we wouldn't get hurt.

Finally we got to go on the train through the lush bush and ten long tunnels!  In one of the tunnels we saw some amazing glow worms that looked like stars.  In the last tunnel there were some fake spiders which gave us a big fright!
